Honey & Preserves
Honey and preserves at the farm store
HONEY Pure and local from bees living happily in our gardens and fields. Because we don't spray our vegetables and flowers, and because we do not follow the disturbing new practice of augmenting honey with chemical extenders, our honey is sweet, clean, and good for you.
Honey is available in one pound and two pound squeeze bottles as well as an assortment of jar sizes.
PRESERVES are made in small batches at Scarecrow Farm from fruit at the farm or sourced from nearby growers such as Don Baker Fruit Farm and Eger Brothers. Our jams contain only things you can pronounce -- fruit, sugar, and fruit pectin, with sometimes a splash of lemon juice to enhance flavor. No corn syrup here! Our 8 oz jars sell for $6.00 each. Favorite flavors include strawberry, strawberry-rhubarb, blueberry, crabapple, and peach, but there are lots more to choose from.
Free Range Eggs
Planning to grow up to be happy laying hens
Eggs from happy hens! The flock is truly free-range! Our many breeds of laying hens produce extra large eggs in pastel colors and the bright orange yolks that are only found in very fresh eggs. Available by the dozen at $4.00 or at the half dozen for $2.00.
Occasionally, we have goose eggs and guinea eggs, mostly available in the spring. Catch as catch can with these! Call ahead for availability.
